The Bread Fairy Sisters — Asakusa “konohana”

ヒラヤマのある東京都台東区には
観光地で有名な「浅草観音」があります（浅草寺）。
そんな浅草観音の裏手のエリアは
「観音裏」とよばれ（または「奥浅草」）、
料亭が軒を連ね、芸者さんが活動するエリアです。
そんな長い歴史の場所にある
姉妹で運営しているパン店が「粉花」。
雑誌などでは「パンの妖精姉妹」とよばれています。
地元浅草に生まれ育ち、
三社祭ともなれば祭支度になって
パンを販売、お神輿を担ぎと大活躍です。
ヒラヤマのある蔵前から近いと言えば近いのですが、
なかなかお店におじゃまするタイミングが昼間になく、
本日は宅配していただきました！

We are Hirayama Inc., a marketing consulting company headquartered in Taito-ku, Tokyo, led by President Masakazu Hirayama.
In Taito Ward, where Hirayama is located, there is the famous tourist spot “Asakusa Kannon” (Senso-ji Temple).
Behind Asakusa Kannon lies an area called “Kannon-ura” (also known as “Oku-Asakusa”), where traditional Japanese restaurants and geisha activities flourish.
In this historic neighborhood, there is a bakery run by two sisters called konohana.
They are often referred to in magazines as the “Bread Fairy Sisters.”
Born and raised in Asakusa, they are very active during the Sanja Matsuri festival — selling bread while also carrying the mikoshi (portable shrine).
Although konohana is relatively close to Hirayama’s office in Kuramae, it’s been difficult to visit the shop during the day.
Today, we had their bread delivered and are looking forward to enjoying it with our staff at lunch.
